About this event

"Reflections on Being a Clinical Social Worker", a presentation by Jana Edwards, LCSW, BCD and Ron Langer, LCSW, BCD

Description:

Jana Edwards and Ron Langer recently retired from clinical work: Jana to focus on teaching, consultation, and writing; Ron to explore a variety of other interests. As we look back over our long careers in clinical social work it has become evident that understanding what led us to this career is essential in making decisions about leaving it. We hope to engage with you in an exploration of why each of us chose to do what we do, what we get from doing it, and how to decide when and how to leave it.

Ron and Jana will share their reflections with members of the society.

Objectives:
1) Participants will examine what functions they provide to (some of) their patients.
2) Participants will examine what functions their clinical work provide to them.
3) Participants will consider what criteria are relevant to deciding if/when to retire from clinical work.

Salon attendees receive 1.5 CEUs.
