Description:

The evening will be dedicated to presenting and elucidating the differences around termination of analysis between Freud and Lacan.

The hypothesis is that termination has an important impact on the formation of analyst, and also in the politics of analysis, institutional and beyond.

Discussion from the audience will be encouraged.

This topic will be further developed in her Continuing Ed course on the same topic, planned for the next Spring Semester.

Objectives:

  1. Explain the different ways of termination an analysis can have.
  2. Describe the relationship between termination and formation of analysis.
  3. Explain the link between termination and the ethics of the analyst.

Bio:

Gabriela Zorzutti is an Argentinian Lacanian analyst, member of the School of Psychoanalysis of the Forums of the Lacanian Field.  She has been the Representative of the English Speaking zone for that School for the last two years, and is currently in the International Dispositif of the Guarantee, representing South America.  She has founded the Colorado Analytic Forum of the Lacanian Field, and is the Director of the Clinical College of Colorado, a formation program in Lacanian clinical analysis, and the Lacanian Clinic.  Gabriela has a private trilingual practice (Spanish, English and French) in Uptown Denver, and has presented on psychoanalysis in Rome, Barcelona, Paris, Toulouse, Warsaw, London, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Medellín, and Pereira. She is a post-doctoral researcher in psychoanalysis for the University of Buenos Aires.  She has authored Actually, Lacan.


Attendees will receive 1.75 CME credit. 

This event is free to attend or there is a small fee for CME credit.  In order to receive a CME certificate, the attendee must: pre-register online, pay in full, attend the entire session and complete an evaluation within 14 days after the program.
