Summary:

Laura will present on preventing and treating burnout specific to mental health professionals. She will speak to understanding burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma; realistic prevention methods, and ways to address active burnout. 2 CEUs.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to understand and recognize burnout, compassion fatigue, and/or vicarious trauma within themselves.
  2. Participants will have a toolbox of realistic coping skills and prevention methods.
  3. Participants will gain ideas for how to advocate for themselves and their mental health in their place of work.

About the Presenter:
Laura Brassie, MA, LPC, is a therapist and clinical supervisor in Denver, Colorado. She is passionate about breaking down stigmas around going to therapy and getting real with mental illness, self care, and burnout. Laura’s clinical specialties are trauma and EMDR, religious trauma, and professional burnout. Laura’s writing has been featured on The Mighty and Denver Therapy Match.

Who Can Attend this Event?
This event is free for active CSCSW. Non-members may attend for $45. Current social work students may attend for free after submitting proof of student status (copy of valid student id, current course schedule from registrar, etc).
