Summary:

Given that psychopathology is one of the most complicated and least studied areas of psychology I am so pleased to be able to finally present clear, evidenced based research that identifies and describes the stages that a victim of Narcissistic Abuse will most likely experience. When treating victims of Intimate Partner Abuse we now have achieved a greater understanding and protocol for identifying the specific type of complicated trauma that this victim/partner is experiencing. We will break down the stages that the Pathological relationship moves through, and the inevitable harm that comes to the victim inherent in this type of relationship. We will gain an increased understanding of the danger the non-path partner is at risk of and what dynamics increase the severity and danger to him/her. Not only will the clinician be able to understand with clarity the signs & symptoms to look for in their client’s suffering from this type of relationship trauma, but also crucial information on what to do & not to do that has historically kept these clients in a traumatized state.

Learning Objectives:

  • To educate clinicians on the stages of a pathological love relationship
  • To lend understanding of the impact of this relationship on the non-path partner
  • Critical considerations for Intervention, Treatment & Prevention
