Practice Standards Committee

The Practice Standards Committees of CSCSW and NASW have been an actively combined working committee since 1992. The Joined Committee is charged with the task of creating guidelines and standards for social work practice.

This is a dynamic committee which has provided leadership to the licensing sunset coalition on social work issues. In addition, it has developed guidelines on issues such as dual role relationships, termination, working with children and their families, disclosures, informed consent, termination, ethical dilemmas in third party situations, supervision, and use of the electronic media. Practice Standards manuals and materials for HIPAA compliance are available through this committee.

The Practice Standards Committee meets on the second Friday of each month at the Boardroom of the Creekside Office Complex, 6091 S. Quebec, Greenwood Village, from 9 to 11. All members are welcome to either call me or come to the meeting to consult about a practice standards issue.
